Boardwalk Rock Festival 2027 FAQ

This Boardwalk Rock Festival FAQ answers the questions fans ask before they buy or book, in one place. Every festival policy answer comes from the official Boardwalk Rock help center, checked Oct 21, 2026. Where the festival marks a policy subject to change, this page says so beside the answer.

Most readers land here with one worry: the missing year. A 2026 return was indicated after the 2025 debut, no 2026 edition ran, and the questions that follow from that sit first. The page then covers refunds and wristbands, lineup changes, kids, bags, entry, accessibility, getting there, and who to contact. The core facts: Boardwalk Rock runs May 14 to 16, 2027 at Ocean City Inlet Beach, and official tickets are sold through Front Gate Tickets.

What follows, in order: why there was no 2026 edition, refunds and wristbands, what happens if a headliner drops out, buying pointers, kids and family entry, the bag policy and what to bring, entry and re-entry, accessibility, getting there and staying over, planning your day, and contacts.

Why there was no Boardwalk Rock in 2026

Why was Boardwalk Rock cancelled in 2026?

It was not a dated festival pulled after an announcement. On Nov 5, 2025, the festival and the Town of Ocean City confirmed there would be no 2026 edition, and a return in 2027. The town statement gave its reason in its own words: "a variety of challenges" made it hard to deliver the same standard of event.

The specific cause on record comes from Town Business Development Director Tom Perlozzo, as reported by local press: two headliners dropped out during booking, and no suitable replacement could be found. Perlozzo said the same on camera to CoastTV. No statement from C3 Presents, and no statement on the festival's own site, gives a cause. This page claims none, because none exists in the published record. The OC Today-Dispatch report carries Perlozzo's account in full.

Were tickets ever sold for Boardwalk Rock 2026?

No. No 2026 edition was ever announced with dates or an on-sale, and no 2026 tickets were sold. A return in 2026 was indicated after the 2025 debut, and an indication is not an announced edition. There was no 2026 lineup, no 2026 presale, and no 2026 checkout for anyone to buy from.

Does anything from 2026 carry over to 2027?

No, for the simple reason that nothing was sold. No 2026 passes exist, so no pass, code, or credit carries to 2027, and no 2026 buyer exists to refund. A 2027 pass is a fresh purchase on the terms published for 2027. Prices, tiers, and the buy path sit on the Boardwalk Rock Festival tickets page. Refunds, wristbands and transfers

Can I get a refund for Boardwalk Rock tickets?

Tickets bought through the official route are final sale. The festival's own policy states no refunds and no exchanges. That rule covers the official sale first, and it is the answer most buyers need. The rest of the answer depends on where a ticket was bought, so the three cases sit below in order.

Official sales, through Front Gate Tickets: final sale, as above. Resale purchases: governed by the marketplace's own terms, which are shown at checkout. This guide is an affiliate of Ticket Squeeze, the resale marketplace its own ticket links use. It does not hold your money and it does not hold your order, so it cannot refund either. Maryland law adds one layer over all of it: under Senate Bill 539, enacted as Chapter 456, a full refund is due from the issuer, the secondary exchange, or a reseller that directly sells the ticket when a ticket is counterfeit, when the event is cancelled, or when the ticket does not conform to its advertised description. The law itself is in the Senate Bill 539 text.

Which Boardwalk Rock tickets and wristbands are valid?

Only wristbands bought through Front Gate Tickets or the Ticketmaster Verified Exchange are valid. The festival's help center states the Box Office cannot help with replacements or wristband errors on tickets bought through third-party broker sites. Its own list of examples names Craigslist, StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, and Facebook Marketplace.

Wristbands are mailed before the festival and work as a worn credential. A wristband is non-transferable in the festival's terms: it must be worn securely, cannot be slipped on and off, and must not be removed between days, stretched, or tampered with. A wristband from an unauthorized source, or a counterfeit, means no entry.

My wristband is lost, damaged or stolen. What happens?

A damaged, lost, or stolen wristband can be replaced one time only, for the original purchaser, for a $20 fee. Take government-issued ID and your order details to the Box Office, which sits near 1st St at Ocean City Inlet Beach. Box Office hours are not yet published (checked Oct 21, 2026).

Can I transfer or resell my ticket to someone else?

Maryland law protects your ability to transfer or resell a ticket offered to the general public, subject to reasonable restrictions imposed by the ticket issuer. Two practical points follow from the same law: the total price, with charges itemised, must be disclosed at each step of a Maryland ticket transaction, and a reseller must share the resale buyer's contact details with the ticket issuer, so the issuer can reach the buyer if an event is cancelled or rescheduled. Keep your contact details current with whoever sold you the ticket.

What happens if a headliner drops out?

What happens if my headliner drops out?

The festival's published terms make all sales final, and they name no refund for a lineup change. A dropped act and a cancelled event are different things in those terms. If the whole event is cancelled, the refund answer above applies, including the Maryland triggers.

The 2025 debut is the precedent, stated as precedent and not as a promise about 2027. As reported by Delmarva Now, Motley Crue withdrew from the 2025 bill, the festival set Alice in Chains as the replacement, they withdrew about a week before the festival, and Rob Zombie performed as the final replacement. The festival replaced the act each time. No refund discussion followed, because the event itself went ahead.

Buying questions that live on the Tickets page

Three buying questions land here often, and all three are answered in full on one page. Prices for every pass, with face value and dated resale side by side, live on the tickets page. The presale, including how passcode signup works, is covered there too, and only there. Single-day passes and the tier split between GA, GA+, VIP, Platinum and Ultimate are also set out on that page, where the figures carry their check dates.

Kids, age limits and family entry

Do children need tickets? Is there an age limit?

Boardwalk Rock is an all-ages event with no age limit. Children aged 8 and under at the time of the festival enter free with a ticket-holding adult. That rule covers every ticket type except Platinum, which has its own scale below.

Platinum works differently. In Platinum areas, children aged 2 and under are free with a ticketed adult. Children aged 3 to 8 need a paid kids Platinum ticket, which is offered after a Platinum ticket goes into the cart. Children aged 9 and above need a full Platinum ticket. One more exception: Ultimate is a paid ticket at every age, with no free child entry at all.

Bag policy and what you can bring

What is the bag policy?

Boardwalk Rock's published bag policy (festival help center, last updated Oct 19, 2026, checked Oct 21, 2026): small clutch purses and fanny packs 6x9 inches or smaller do not need to be clear, and can have no more than one pocket. Any larger bag must be clear and smaller than 12x6x12 inches. Hydration packs do not need to be clear, must be emptied of liquid before entry, and can have no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment. All bags are searched before entry. The festival marks this policy subject to change, so recheck the official help center before you pack.

What can I bring, and what is banned?

Allowed items include: bags that match the policy above, empty reusable water bottles and hydration packs, baby strollers 31x52 inches or smaller, binoculars, basic point-and-shoot cameras without detachable lenses, portable battery packs, sunscreen in non-aerosol containers of 3.4 oz or less, and blankets, sheets and towels. Prescription medicine must be shown to medical staff at the gate in its pharmacy-labelled container, with a supply for that day only.

Banned: chairs of any kind, umbrellas, coolers, outside food or drink including alcohol, glass containers, aerosol containers, professional cameras and recording gear, drones, tents and shade structures, pets except service animals, and smoking, which includes vaping.

What should I bring for a day on the grounds?

Bring an empty reusable water bottle: refill stations are free, and hydration packs must arrive empty. Secure lockers with charging are available to rent inside the grounds, per the official tickets page. Wear shoes you can walk on sand in, and plan for sun: two of the three stages sit on the beach, and shade is a lounge feature of the paid tiers, not a grounds feature.

Entry, re-entry and paying inside

What time do gates open, and how does entry work?

Gates open at 12 PM and close at 11 PM each day. Entry runs through entrances along the Boardwalk between N. Division St and S. Division St. Every fan passes a full airport-style search before entry, which can include a pat-down and magnetometer screening. A same-gender screener can be requested before the search, and children are screened only with a parent or guardian's consent.

Can I leave and come back the same day?

Yes, until 7 PM local time. Scan your wristband out at the gate when you leave, and scan back in when you return. Each re-entry means a wristband scan and a pass through security, and re-entry ends at 7 PM even though the grounds stay open to 11 PM.

Is there seating, or is it standing only?

The grounds are standing. Chairs of any kind are prohibited, and no chair may be carried in. Seated rest exists inside the tier lounges: GA+ has a shaded lounge with relaxed seating, and the VIP and Platinum lounges add their own seating areas. On the open grounds and at the stages, plan to stand.

Can I pay with cash inside?

The festival itself is 100 percent cashless. Boardwalk businesses inside the grounds, the restaurants, bars and shops within the footprint, may accept cash and cards. They do not accept payment by festival wristband, so a wristband is a credential, not a wallet.

Accessibility

What accessibility support is confirmed for 2027?

No separate accessible ticket exists: every festival ticket is general admission, and accessible support starts at the Access Center on arrival. Visit it for accessible viewing area information and for an accessibility wristband. The wristband covers you plus one companion, is non-transferable, and lasts the whole weekend. Viewing areas have limited capacity and fill first come, first served, with no saving of spots, so the wristband does not guarantee a place.

For Deaf guests who use ASL, interpreted performances run for certain performances. To request a specific performance, email access@boardwalkrockfest.com no later than April 14, 2027. Assistive listening devices are the alternative for guests who do not use ASL. Powered wheelchairs can charge at the Access Center if you bring your own cord. The festival does not rent or loan wheelchairs, and it does not provide push service or golf cart rides.

One gap is stated plainly: the full 2027 ADA parking and entry details are not yet available, per the accessibility article itself (checked Oct 21, 2026). ADA parking is available at all municipal lots named below. When the detail publishes, this answer updates and its date moves.

Getting there and staying over

How do I get there, and where do I park?

The festival address is 809 South Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD 21842, at Ocean City Inlet Beach. There is no festival parking from N. Division St south to the inlet. The help center names three lots for drivers coming from outside Ocean City: West Ocean City Park and Ride at 12848 Ocean Gateway, the Convention Center Lot at 4001 Coastal Highway, and the 100th Street Municipal Lot at 10267 Coastal Highway, with public transport running to and from the festival from each. Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is at 409 Baltimore Ave, about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the grounds. The Beach Bus runs an express pattern for the festival, and bike parking sits off the boardwalk between 2nd St and 3rd St. Rates, permits and the drive itself are covered on the parking and getting there page.

Where should I stay? Is there camping?

Book early is the honest summary from 2025, when the debut sold out. Boardwalk Rock lists no camping option among its published ticket and hotel offers (checked Oct 21, 2026). Staying over means hotels and rentals in and around Ocean City, and the official site also sells hotel plus ticket packages. Areas, price patterns and booking timing sit on the hotels near Ocean City Inlet page.

Planning your day

Two planning facts belong up front. Set times are not yet published (checked Oct 21, 2026), and this page will not guess a date for them. The day bills, so you know which acts share your day, are on the Boardwalk Rock lineup page.

How far is the walk between stages?

Far enough to plan around. A 2025 attendee review in Full Access Magazine put the walk between stages at a good 15 to 20 minutes, much of it on sand, and noted long early lines at the entrances despite several gates. That is 2025 experience, labelled as such, and 2027 stage positions are not published yet.

Will merch sell out?

It did in 2025. The lesson from attendee accounts of the debut is that a large share of the stock had sold out by Sunday. The practical answer for 2027 is the pre-order: lineup tees are already on pre-order on the official site, so the shirt you want does not depend on Sunday stock.
