Iron Maiden Close the Festival on the Final North American Leg Date
Sunday May 16 does more than close this festival. It is the final date of the final North American leg of Iron Maiden's Run For Your Lives tour, on the band's own published dates. The leg ends with two festival headline sets: Sonic Temple in Columbus on Friday May 14, then Boardwalk Rock two days later. No North American date on the official list comes after May 16.
That gives Sunday a weight the other days cannot match. A fan who catches Maiden here is not catching one stop among many. It is the last North American show of the leg, played on a beach stage, with Alice in Chains and Judas Priest on the same day's bill. Alice in Chains Return, and the 2025 Headliners Who Are Not Back
Alice in Chains are the returning story of this bill. In 2025 they were announced as a replacement act, then withdrew about a week before the festival after drummer Sean Kinney's medical emergency, as reported by Delmarva Now at the time. For 2027 they sit on the Sunday bill as announced, beside Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. That is the record, stated as record. It is not a promise about May, and no page can honestly make it one.
The first Boardwalk Rock ran two days, May 17 and 18, 2025. Its headliners as performed were Def Leppard, Nickelback, Shinedown and Rob Zombie. None of the four headline the 2027 bill. Fans asking for Shinedown and Rob Zombie by name in the return threads will not find them here, and the 2027 bill tilts heavier without them: nu-metal weight on Friday, modern metal on Saturday, classic metal on Sunday. After that debut there was no 2026 edition. This 2027 bill is the return, one year later and one day longer.
