Hotels Near Ocean City Inlet for Festival Weekend
The best hotels near Ocean City Inlet Beach for Boardwalk Rock weekend are the stays at the south end of the Boardwalk, close to the festival entrances at 809 South Atlantic Ave. This page sorts them by the facts that decide a festival stay: the walk to the gates, parking you can trust, and sleep after the last set.
Booking sites list this area by a map pin they call Inlet Park. A pin does not show how far your room sits from the Main Entrance, what parking costs, or how loud your street gets at night. The sections below use the festival's own walk times, each hotel's own parking terms, and the town's own rules.
One step comes first: check 3-Day Pass availability before you book a room, and lock your dates against the Boardwalk Rock 2027 dates and ticket status on the hub. Rooms follow the pass.
How long is the walk to the entrances?
The festival's help center gives walk times to the Main Entrance by street. A stay that looks close on a booking grid can still mean a long walk home at 11 PM.
| Where you stay | Walk to the Main Entrance |
|---|---|
| 10th St | 15 minutes |
| 20th St | 30 minutes |
| 27th St, the north end of the Boardwalk (North Entrance) | About 40 minutes, about 2 miles |
| 30th St | 45 minutes |
| 40th St | 55 minutes |
The Boardwalk runs 2.9 miles, from the Inlet to 27th St. Past 27th St, the walk grows fast, and most guests will ride instead. By bike, 10th St takes 5 minutes and 40th St takes 13.
Read any list of inlet-area hotels against this table, not against a star rating. The inlet end, up to about 10th St, is the true walk zone. The rest of the Boardwalk is a mid-range walk. Midtown and North Ocean City are a bus or car trip south.
Boardwalk side or bay side?
Boardwalk side puts you on Atlantic Ave, face to the ocean, with the gates a short walk south. You get the beach at your door and the fastest route in and out. You also get board noise, tight parking, and crowds late at night. Town rules bar loud noise from midnight to 7 AM, but the south end stays lively on a festival night.
Bay side sits west of the boards, toward Sinepuxent Bay and Isle of Wight Bay. Streets there tend to run quieter, and many rooms face the sunset. The trade is the walk: your route to the beach and the gates depends on your cross street, so check the street first and the view second.
One mix-up costs guests money: beachfront is not the same as boardwalk. Some beachfront hotels sit far north of 27th St, off the boards. They can be fine stays, but they are not hotels close to Ocean City Inlet, and the walk table does not apply to them.
Bay side is not cheaper by rule. Compare the full cost of each stay: room, parking, fees, and cancel terms. A low rate with paid parking and a strict cancel rule can cost more than a higher rate with both built in.
Should you book now?
Book early for this weekend. Town hotel data shows what the festival does to demand. In a sample of 21 chain hotels, about 2,800 rooms, revenue per room fell 24.6 percent and the daily rate fell 16.8 percent in May 2026, the year the festival did not run. The town's Tourism Commission tied that dip in the main to the missing festival demand. The sample is not the whole market, but the direction is clear: when the festival runs, inlet rooms go first.
The festival's own hotel route is Crewfare. Its help center sends all hotel and package questions there. You can also book direct or use a homestay. This guide lists no room rates, because a rate printed here would be stale the day you read it. Judge each stay on the walk, the parking terms below, and its cancel terms.
Hotel parking: what is verified, and what is not
Parking is the fact booking sites get wrong most often here. The table uses each hotel's own site or brand page where one exists. Where sources clash, this page says so or leaves the hotel out.
| Hotel | Parking, as verified Oct 21, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Cambria Hotel Ocean City Bayfront, 13 Saint Louis Ave (bay side) | Paid parking on site. The Choice Hotels brand page states this in plain terms. A top booking site's answer page calls it free, and that answer is wrong. |
| Plim Plaza Hotel, 109 N Atlantic Ave | Free, one parking spot per room, per the hotel's own list of what is included. |
| Quality Inn Boardwalk, 1601 Atlantic Ave | Complimentary parking, per the hotel's own services page. |
| Hyatt Place Ocean City / Oceanfront, at 16th St | Self parking at $10 per night, with limited spots, per the property's own FAQ. One town directory list claims free parking for this hotel, so confirm the fee when you book. |
Four more stays show free parking in every directory and booking list checked, with no hotel page of their own to confirm it: the Oceanic Motel at the inlet, Tidelands Caribbean at 5th St, Harrison Hall at 14th St, and Hotel Monte Carlo on Baltimore Ave. Treat those as likely free, and confirm direct before you count on it.
This page leaves two inlet area stays out on purpose: Madison Beach Motel and Park Place Hotel. Sources clash on both, and neither has an official page that settles it. Ask direct and get the answer in your booking terms.
If you plan to drive in each day, read the festival parking and getting to the inlet page first. There is no festival parking from N. Division St south to the inlet, so a walkable room solves a real problem.
Some hotels run a courtesy shuttle to the festival. The drop and pick-up point is Somerset St, about two blocks from the venue. Hours change by hotel, so ask yours when the last trip leaves. That shuttle is the hotel's own service, not the town Beach Bus.
Can you camp at Boardwalk Rock?
No. There is no on-site camping at Boardwalk Rock, and the festival's own stay advice lists hotels and homestays only. There is also no legal way to sleep rough in town that weekend. Town rules ban sleeping on the beach from 10 PM to 6 AM, ban sleeping in a vehicle at any time, and ban tents with sides on the beach. RVs and large vehicles may not park in town lots, streets or alleys from May 1 to Oct 31, which covers the festival dates. The full rules sit on the Town of Ocean City ordinances page.
The real camping choices sit across the bay, near Assateague Island:
- Assateague Island National Seashore. The closest wild option. You must book ahead for dates from March 15 to Nov 15, and the park warns that most weekend sites go on the first day they open, six months out. Sites cost $40 per night. There are no hookups at all, but sites have a table and a fire ring, and the grounds have toilets, cold showers in season, and drinking water. Book through the National Park Service Assateague camping page.
- Assateague State Park. The softer option, and Maryland's only state oceanfront park. It has 342 sites, each with a fire ring and table. Electric hookups exist in the G and I loops only. You can book up to 365 days ahead. Check-in runs 2 PM to 10 PM, with no late check-in. See the Maryland DNR Assateague State Park page.
- Sun Outdoors Frontier Town, Berlin. A private park on Sinepuxent Bay with tent, glamping and RV sites, up to full hookup RV sites. Its own FAQ says a shuttle to the Boardwalk is part of the daily resort fee. No 2027 festival shuttle plan is published, so do not count on a set timetable until the park posts one.
Wild horses roam both Assateague campgrounds. Keep about 40 feet from them and lock food away.
Hotels near Ocean City Inlet: quick answers
Which hotels near the inlet have free parking, really?
Plim Plaza (one spot per room) and Quality Inn Boardwalk both state free or included parking on their own pages. Cambria, on the bay side, charges for parking on its own brand page, no matter what a booking site answer says. Hyatt Place lists $10 per night in its own FAQ, with a clash in one directory list, so confirm at booking.
What are the cheapest hotels near Ocean City Inlet?
This page prints no room rates, so it names no cheapest hotel. Find yours this way: use the walk table, drop stays that add parking fees you did not expect, then compare full cost with fees and cancel terms on the same dates.
Is it better to stay on the boardwalk or the bay side?
Pick the boardwalk if the short walk matters most. Pick the bay side if quiet nights and a sunset view matter more, and your cross street keeps the walk fair. Either way, for boardwalk rock festival hotels the street number decides more than the side of the island does.
Can I sleep in my car or RV in town instead?
No. Sleeping in a vehicle is banned in town at all times, and RVs may not park in town lots or streets in May. Use a booked campground from the list above.
